Copete: "I'm confident that the results will come"
The defender analyses the game against Elche CF
Copete spoke to VCF Media following Valencia CF's 1-1 draw with Elche CF at Mestalla.
EFFECTIVENESS IN THE AREA
“The result isn't what we wanted. We came here intending to take all three points in front of our fans, and it wasn't to be. I think the team did many positive things; I think we had far more chances than our opponents, but they scored from their only shot on target. That's football; it's about effectiveness in the areas. We didn't get the result we wanted, but we have confidence in the coaching staff, the coach, and the team. Things will improve, I'm sure of it.”
PERSISTENCE
“Being clinical in both penalty areas is what decides whether you get the three points. We haven't been clinical enough lately, but I always want to focus on the positives. Of course, we need to work hard and persevere in our focus on things that aren't going well, because the reason that we're where we are is because there are things we're not doing right. We're the first to be self-critical. But I'm confident, from seeing my teammates and how we prepare for matches each week, that the results will come and we'll turn things around.”
BURGOS AND GETAFE
“Confidence is important right now, and so is unity within the team. Naturally, in the dressing room we're disappointed because we wanted to win, and it's important that it hurts when you don't achieve your goals. From here, tomorrow we'll start preparing for the Copa del Rey match, as it's a competition we take very seriously, and then we'll go to Getafe looking to get the three points.”
