Mestalla has been a luxury setting this Wednesday, March 25, to begin celebrating the 10th anniversary of VCF Inclusivo, which, under the responsibility of the Fundació VCF, reaches 10 seasons of existence in the current campaign (2016-17/2025-26).
A total of 12 teams made up of players with intellectual disabilities (ID) enjoyed a spectacular day with support from the stands from their families, friends and numerous schools, special education centres, occupational centres, IVASS centres (Valencian Institute of Social Services) and students from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Of course, the Valencia CF mascot, ‘Amunt’, was also present.
The participating teams, with no standings and with medals and trophies for all, were: four from VCF Inclusivo (Blanc, Negre, Taronja and Senyera), Villarreal CF EDI, Levante UD EDI, CD Eldense Genuine, Elche CF Genuine, Fundació Barça, Athletic Club Fundazioa Genuine, Córdoba CF Genuine and Fundação SL Benfica.
The referees were Pablo Flores, Daniel Alcaraz, Agustín Fernández and Mateu Lahoz.
The award ceremony featured: Javier Solís, General Director of Valencia CF; Inma Ibáñez, Director of the Fundació VCF; Jorge García, Marketing and Commercial Director of Valencia CF; Miguel Ángel Bossio and Miguel Tendillo, Club ambassadors; Luis Cervera, General Director of Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana; Hermenegildo Puchades, deputy director; Mª Ángeles Vidal, manager of the Municipal Sports Foundation; Salvador Gomar, president of the Football Federation of the Comunitat Valenciana; and Clemente Villaverde, president of Fundación LALIGA.
On behalf of the VCF Inclusivo partners: José Ibáñez (Puma), Eugenio de Miguel (Aquaservice), Gonzalo Fuster (Supertite), Ricardo Martínez (SAV), Mª Dolores Esparza (SP·Berner) and Isabel Martínez (Colevisa). Fundación La Caixa and Acción Social Caixabank were also present, represented by Encarna Alcaide.
These partners are the ‘teammates’ who currently share the exceptional journey of VCF Inclusivo in every training session, match, tournament and league.
After the Tournament, the exhibition ‘10th Anniversary VCF Inclusivo’, organised by the Heritage Department of the Fundació VCF, was officially opened and can be visited in the Mestalla VIP Box as part of the Mestalla Tour.
