Guerra: "It was important to finish the preseason with a win"

Valencia CF's Javi Guerra spoke after contributing a goal in the 2-0 win over Hércules CF.

“I feel good. A victory is always positive. There are things we need to improve, but it was important to finish the preseason with a win.”

“You can understand it. We have to be realistic; the last few seasons haven’t gone as the fans hoped, so it’s understandable. But you also have to give the team confidence. The season hasn’t started yet, and it’s important to begin it with everyone’s support.”

“Preseason is for trying different things out and seeing what works best for the team, and right now we’re testing a back five, which could be beneficial for the team.”

His position on the pitch

“I feel good. I like playing with a certain freedom, which allows me to drop deep, get forward into the opposition box and do a bit of everything. In the end, if that brings goals and assists, then all the better.”
