Pepelu: "We came close and are looking ahead"

Valencia CF midfielder Pepelu gave VCF Media his thoughts on the loss to Real Betis.

THE FEELING IN THE SQUAD

"It's a tough blow and an unfair defeat for us. Their goal came late and we had chances to take the lead before that. The opposition's chances were few and far between, and one went in."

DETERMINATION

"It's true that our eagerness to go for the win caused us to break down our shape, and they capitalised. The difference is that we had our chances and didn't take them."

GETTING CLOSE TO A WIN

"The team deserved more, but a good feeling doesn't mean much. Goals and points are what count, but I think the team gave it their all. We came close, and this should help us learn and make corrections going forward."

KEEPING GOING

"Thank goodness we have a bit of a break now, because what LaLiga have done with the fixture list is something to think about: We've been playing in 80% humidity... There's no other option for us than to keep going and focus on RC Deportivo."
