Munitis: “Welcoming Valencia CF is wonderful, a classic of our league and one of the greats”

Valencia CF will face Real Racing Club de Santander next Sunday, 11 October at 9pm at El Sardinero. Pedro Munitis, Head of Methodology of the Racing academy and former player of the Santander-based club, was the protagonist on L’Informatiu of VCF Media Radio to talk about the match between both sides.

Return to El Sardinero 14 years later

“Too many years and many things have passed in Santander, but in the end, what you learn the most from is difficulties. We have gone through difficult moments, but now the Club is in ‘good health’. There has been a great turnaround, the fans have a great sense of belonging and there are many young people. Welcoming Valencia CF is wonderful, a classic of our league and one of the greats.”

Real Racing Club de Santander’s return to LALIGA EA SPORTS

“The Club’s ‘health’ is very good and our fans would make us withstand any situation. It is incredible what has been generated. The people are very ‘engaged’. We are competing well and in a process of adapting to the division. Any mistake penalises you. The team’s feelings are good. José Alberto has a very attractive footballing idea, watching the team play is entertaining, they propose, they are proactive, they have the ball and attack a lot and well.”

Aguirre’s arrival at Valencia CF

“If there is something he is characterised by, it is making very solid teams and I am sure it will be a very tough match. The squad will be very ‘engaged’, wanting to show the coach that he can count on them.”

Sergio Canales

“We were very happy about his return. He ‘exploded’ in an impressive way and left very young. His football is very attractive, with experience, and he gives us that extra special feeling.”

Munitis-Zigic partnership at Racing
