Fernando Tirapu and his connection with Claramunt at Valencia CF
The Pamplona-born midfielder played three seasons for Valencia CF and six for Athletic Club
Valencia CF will face Athletic Club next Sunday, May 10 at 16:15 at San Mamés in the match corresponding to matchday 35 of the LALIGA EA SPORTS 25-26 season. One of the players who wore both jerseys was Fernando Tirapu (11-07-1951 / 07-28-2018).

The player from Pamplona arrived at the Valencian club in the 1974-75 season after his spell at CA Osasuna. Tirapu played three seasons for Valencia CF (1974-75 / 1975-76 / 1976-77), in which he featured in 99 LALIGA matches and formed a great partnership with the legend Pepe Claramunt.

After his time at the Valencian side, the Navarrese player signed for Athletic Club, where he competed for six seasons (from 1977-78 to 1982-83). He won the LALIGA title with the Basque side.

As a curiosity, Fernando Tirapu was related to the current Athletic Club Femenino goalkeeping coach and former player, Ainhoa Tirapu.
