In LALIGA, Gayà now has ahead of him players of the stature of Fernando Gómez Colomer (420), Ricardo Arias (377), David Albelda (351), and Manolo Mestre (323).
Gayà equals Angulo as the fifth Valencia CF player with the most matches played in LALIGA

The player from Pedreguer has now reached 313 appearances in the top national competition
Valencia CF captain - José Luis Gayà - has reached 313 matches played in LALIGA with the team after featuring against CA Osasuna. The player from Pedreguer equals a legend like Angulo and, in addition, already finished last season as the ninth player with the most appearances in the Club’s history.

He made his LALIGA debut against Atlético de Madrid on April 27, 2014, at Mestalla. Gradually, he grew until becoming one of the pillars of VCF Mestalla. He made his first-team debut on October 30, 2012, in the Copa del Rey match against UE Llagostera. From that moment on, his progress was exponential, and his importance at Valencia CF kept increasing, even becoming the second youngest player (28 years and 289 days) in the Club’s history to reach 350 official matches. The first was Fernando Gómez Colomer, who achieved that impressive milestone at just 27 years and 239 days old.
