Gayà, honoured for his long career at Valencia CF
Award presented at the COPE Valencia 60th Anniversary Gala
Valencia CF captain José Luis Gayà received, at the COPE Valencia 60th Anniversary Gala, an award in recognition of his long career at the Club. The General Director of the Valencian entity, Javier Solís, also attended the event.

“I feel proud to be able to receive this award, and, well, it speaks very well of the career I have had, and I am very proud,” Gayà states.
Since his arrival at the VCF Academy at the age of 11, José Luis Gayà has shown his quality, effort and commitment to the Club of his life: Valencia CF.
The player from Pedreguer grew, gradually, until becoming one of the pillars of VCF Mestalla. He made his debut with the first team on 30 October 2012 in the Copa del Rey match against UE Llagostera. From that moment onwards, his growth was exponential and his importance at Valencia CF kept increasing, even becoming the second-youngest player (28 years and 289 days) in the history of the Club to play 350 official matches. The first was Fernando Gómez Colomer, who reached that impressive figure at 27 years and 239 days.
“It is an extra responsibility that all the boys and girls can look up to me. Representing Valencia CF is the greatest thing there is,” the Valencia CF captain states.
Today, he is already the eighth player with the most official matches at the Club (387) and the fifth footballer of the entity with the most appearances in LALIGA (322).
