Ricardo Rodríguez (Horta Coslada): “For us, the Nou Mestalla is a unique project”
The Nou Mestalla has entered a new phase of construction with the arrival of key pieces and elements such as the pillars that will support the stadium’s large roof.
Horta Coslada, the leading company in design, manufacturing, engineering and assembly—which produces components such as the pillars, pillar bases, stair towers, and the structural ring under FCC Construcción’s guidance—explains some of the key aspects of this new construction phase:
“We are in Horta Coslada’s workshop in Arteixo, one of the company’s main facilities, where we are developing the project for Valencia CF. We are manufacturing the main structure of the Nou Mestalla, which is made up of pillars and compression rings. The pillars consist of 50 pieces, each about 37–38 meters long, weighing between 25 and 40 tons. The compression ring is also made up of 50 pieces, box-shaped elements measuring about 15 to 17 meters long and weighing around 40 tons. These pillars support the compression ring, which will be the main structure of the stadium roof,” explains Ricardo Rodríguez, Product Manager at Horta Coslada, about a process that involves 70 people—boilermakers and welders—working daily and which will continue until the summer of 2026.
