Valencia CF has been training over the past few days at the Royal Verd Training Center, an elite sports complex located in the province of Girona, with the goal of building fitness and getting a feel for the game ahead of the official competition. Mireia Morera, CEO of the Royal Verd Training Center, highlights the importance of the visit from the team led by Carlos Corberán and shares full details about the facilities.

For us, it’s a privilege—and it’s the first time we’ve had the opportunity to host a team of this caliber at our center. From our point of view, it’s a fantastic experience.

A world-class sports complex

Here at the Royal Verd Training Center, we have three FIFA-regulation football pitches, as well as various areas where we focus on specific training needs—such as a dedicated goalkeeper zone and activation spaces.

We also offer a fully equipped gym with outdoor views, two changing rooms (one for the home team and another for visitors), along with an additional locker room for referees. There’s an auditorium where we conduct all technical briefings with the team and staff, plus several rooms designated for the press.

In addition, we have a swimming pool, physiotherapy and cryotherapy areas, and we always strive to stay at the highest level, providing a warm and comfortable environment for all teams.

The origins of Royal Verd and its training center

It all began with a vision from my father, who founded Royal Verd 25 years ago. From the start, he dedicated himself to creating top-quality turf for elite professional teams.

As he became more involved in the football world, he realized that while there were many places for preseason training, there weren’t many specifically designed to attract only high-level professional teams. He had the foresight to acquire this land and build everything needed to host La Liga teams like Valencia CF.

A high-performance center for elite teams and national squads

We realized that many teams were coming, and we set out to offer them an extra level of professionalism. In addition to the top-tier teams that already place their trust in us, we aim to break the seasonality of this market segment. That way, we also work with national teams and strive to host squads throughout the entire year.

Our peak season is summer, when we welcome elite teams, but we also host foreign clubs—particularly from Nordic countries—that come here for their preseason training.
