Maffeo: "Together we will achieve great things"

The new arrival speaks about joining Valencia CF

New signing Pablo Maffeo talked to VCF Media in his first interview after his arrival at Valencia CF, and expressed his excitement to get started.

Joining Valencia CF

“I’ve wanted to come here for a long time. I’ve spoken with teammates over the years who have come here or who have been here before, and they’ve told me what the club is like, and I’m really happy and excited about the move.”

The dressing room

“I know practically all of my new teammates already, either from having played against them or even playing with some of them at other clubs. I feel right at home. I have family here, I know Valencia, and that's one of the reasons I came. I have a daughter who lives here, and combining being with her with football is the greatest achievement you can have.”

His qualities on the pitch

“I’m very competitive and a fighter, I give my all on the pitch. I can offer a lot of that to Valencia CF, who are a club who play like that, and I hope the fans will support me. I will give my all for this club. I can contribute experience, camaraderie, and competitiveness.”

His conversation with Carlos Corberán

“I had a phone call with him. He conveyed a great desire to work hard, which I share. I've heard wonderful things about him. I appreciate the opportunity he's giving me and that he can place his trust in me. He has a warrior here in me.”

His personal interests

“I’m a very calm person, even though it might not seem that way when I'm on the pitch. I like being with my partner, my dogs, and my daughter. Enjoying everyday life with them is my greatest hobby. I also like boxing and martial arts.”

Mestalla

“Coming to Mestalla with the away team is always difficult; you know you're going to suffer. It's always been like that. I hope that this year Mestalla will be what it has always been in its history with the club. We have to enjoy it and get through any tough times together. It will be a season to remember.”

The fans

“I love them. The fact that they demand more of you and push you on when things are tough is great for everyone -because you have to feel that pressure too. They also support you when things are going well, and stick with you when things are going badly. It's very exciting because you feel their support and they give you that extra push that can take you to victory. We're going to give it our all, and they are an important part of the team, the club, and our history. My advice is to enjoy it, to let them spur us on. We have to perform at our best on the pitch, but above all, we should be united. Unity makes us all stronger, and together we will achieve great things.”
