Valencia CF travelled to the Spanish capital to take on Atletico Madrid on Sunday, January 28th at 9 pm kick-off time (CET) at the Estadio Cívitas Metropolitano on Matchday 22 of LaLiga EA Sports.
Valencia CF had a quiet start to the game with the opposition looking to take charge of proceedings right from the off putting Valencia CF on the back foot whilst being tight, narrow and very organised at the back.

Giorgi Mamardashvili kept the scoreline at 1-0 with a reaction save to Savic’s header. Alas, Memphis Depay made it 2-0 to Atletico Madrid under the hour mark at the Cívitas Metropolitano.
Roman Yaremchuk tested Jan Oblak who turned the ball behind for a corner kick in a rare foray forward to win a corner kick.
Moments later, Valencia CF had a spot-kick against José Luis Gaya for a foul on Nahuel Molina rightfully overturned by the VAR.
Valencia CF kept on trying to score to get back into the match in the closing stages of the second half, but the scoreline remained unchanged and Valencia CF's four-match winning run in LaLiga came to a close.
Valencia CF will welcome UD Almería on Saturday, February 3rd at 2 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 23 of LaLiga EA Sports.
