Valencia CF visits Oliva, one of the towns worst affected by the recent DANA storm in the Valencian Community

In recent days, numerous towns across the Valencian Community have been affected by a new DANA. One of the towns hit particularly hard has been Oliva. Valencia CF visited the area alongside Oliva Town Council and the Valencian Supporters' Clubs Association.

“We had been issued a red weather alert and, from 3:30 a.m. onwards, we started receiving messages. It continued raining until 7:00 a.m., with more than 700 litres per square metre recorded. A week ago, when we were in a very difficult situation, Valencia CF contacted us and offered to come to Oliva, show their concern for the town and see how they could help. We are extremely grateful to them,” explained Salvador Llopis, Oliva Town Council's Councillor for Beaches.

Valencia CF players José Luis Gayà, Pepelu and Cristian Rivero, together with Fede Sagreras (President of the Valencian Supporters' Clubs Association) and Salvador Llopis (Oliva Town Council's Councillor for Beaches), witnessed the damage caused by the flooding in this Valencian town.

They also gained first-hand insight into the situation facing the Morató family. Pau plays for the Valencia CF Infantil team and spent two weeks at the VCF Residence at the Paterna Training Ground because of the condition of his home.

“We didn't know whether we would have drinking water or how we would manage to get food, so we asked the Club if Pau could stay at the VCF Academy Residence. They helped us enormously, and we are very grateful to the Club. It is a favour we can never repay. Having the team captains come here and show such genuine concern for the entire town is something we truly appreciate,” explained Pau's father, Guillermo Morató.

José Luis Gayà and Pepelu expressed their full support for those affected on behalf of the Club:

“Both the players and Valencia CF are at your disposal for whatever you need. This has been a major catastrophe, and we are here to help everyone who has suffered losses so that they can move forward.”
