VCF Camps Belgium Crowned Champions of a Spectacular VCF Academy World Cup

They defeated Dinamo Star SE of Hungary in a fantastic U12 tournament that brought together 15 teams from the VCF Academy Programs across America, Asia, Europe and Oceania

  • VCF Academy Houston, Valentia Final champions
  • VCF Academy Adelaide, Sentiment Final champions
  • VCF Academy Morelia, Germanor Final champions

The VCF Academy World Cup has come to the end of a spectacular fifth edition in which more than 200 U12 players from America, Asia, Europe and Oceania enjoyed a full week of football, fun and a fantastic atmosphere of Sentiment, Valentia and Germanor at the Valencia CF Ciudad Deportiva.

A GREAT FINAL

VCF Camps Belgium were crowned champions after defeating Hungary's Dinamo Star SE 3-0 in the Grand Final, a match that was decided by two first-half goals - including a spectacular finish by Maurice with a nutmeg and a long-range chip - and a third goal, also from Maurice, just before the final whistle, which sparked the Belgian players' celebrations.

VCF Camps Belgium therefore succeed Hungary's Dinamo Star SE, runners-up this year and champions in the previous edition, Escoles VCF, who reached the semi-finals this year, Italy's Polisportiva Bruinese, champions in 2023, and Lithuania's FK Zalgiris Kaunas, champions in 2022. A different winner in every edition reflects the competitive level of the participating teams.

AN AFTERNOON FULL OF EMOTIONS

The afternoon was full of emotions, not only in the Grand Final but also in the Sentiment, Valentia and Germanor Finals.

In the Germanor category, VCF Academy Morelia (Mexico) won the triangular tournament against VCF Academy Greece and VCF Camps Mexico, while in the Sentiment Final, VCF Academy Adelaide (Australia) claimed victory thanks to a great goal against VCF Academy Greece.

Finally, in the Valentia Final, VCF Academy Houston defeated VCF Academy Cyprus in an exciting penalty shootout.

A SPECTACULAR CLOSING CEREMONY

All the teams brought this VCF Academy World Cup to a close with an emotional Closing Ceremony held at the Antonio Puchades, attended by Club ambassadors and legends Miguel Tendillo and Miguel Ángel Bossio, who presented the medals and trophies to every participant, especially the champions, VCF Camps Belgium.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

In addition to the team awards, this VCF Academy World Cup also recognised the tournament's standout individual performers:

  • MVP: Maurice Ngolok (VCF Camps Belgium)
  • Best Goalkeeper: Pilip Todea (Dinamo Star SE)
  • Top Scorer: Leo (Escoles VCF)

MEXICO, THE BEST FANS

A special mention also goes to VCF Academy Morelia (Mexico) and VCF Camps Mexico, who, in addition to being crowned Germanor Final champions, played a major role in creating the spectacular atmosphere throughout the tournament and were recognised as the Best Fans of the V VCF Academy World Cup. Led by the Mexican teams, the tournament came to a close with a huge Mexican wave involving all the participants and spectators who filled the Antonio Puchades stands.
