Duro: "We thank the fans for their support"

Hugo Duro talked with VCF Media after Valencia CF's Matchday 7 defeat at home to Real Sociedad.

EFFORT GOING UNREWARDED

“It really hurts. I think the team played well. We put in an incredible amount of effort and created plenty of chances. We just lacked a goal, and above all we got caught out on a couple of transitions due to errors on our part that we shouldn't be making. It’s a shame. Out of ten games like this, you might lose one, and this time it was our turn to lose. But we all need to keep going in this same way. We want to thank the fans for their support; we really need it.”

THANKING THE FANS

“We’re frustrated because it hasn’t been a good start to the season. You give it your all on the pitch, and just when it looked like we might even push on for the win, we got dealt another blow. We want to thank the fans. We need them. The worse things go for us, the more we need their support. I know it’s a bit selfish and we aren’t in a position to make demands, but I want them to know the dressing room appreciates it and we’re delighted with how they’ve been with us.”

KEEPING WORKING

“There’s no other choice. It’s time to get to work. We’ll be happy with whoever is coach -whether it’s Óscar or someone else. We’re going to work hard, because our duty here is to lift Valencia CF back up to where the club belong. We have two weeks of hard work ahead, and we’re looking forward to playing at El Sardinero; we’re going there to get the three points.”
