VCF Mestalla to compete in a new-look Premier League International Cup
The reserve side will face West Ham United, Middlesbrough, Southampton FC and Manchester United in a U21 competition featuring academies from different European countries.
VCF Mestalla head coach, Miguel Ángel Angulo, ran the rule over their perfect start to the season which puts them as Tercera RFEF group IV leaders with two wins from their two opening games.

"I’m happy about the result and the shift that we’ve put in up against an opposition who have made things difficult for us. They had chances to equalise but the team managed to hold out and manage these types of game and we were deserved victors.
We went in front really early which allowed us to be focused on enjoying more possession but the first half was really tight. We struggled when they used a direct and aerial type of play, we struggled with those second balls and building up play.
But other than those situations in which Charly had to fine interventions, we knew how to deal with those situations in the second half having longer spells of possesion and probing forward to create goalscoring opportunities linking up with close and mid-range passing.
This victory is a valuable one for many reasons. Claiming all three points away from home, and above all, the feeling about the team an ambitious side that want to go further and are really committed to the objective”.
