Patrick Cutrone, Valencia CF’s new signing on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, is a 23-year-old striker with a proven goalscoring pedigree.
Brought through the youth system at AC Milan, Cutrone debuted for the ‘Rossoneri’ first team in May of 2017, under coach Vicenzo Montella. The following season, during Gennaro Gattuso’s time in charge, he had a breakout season in which he scored 18 goals -10 in Serie A, 2 in the Coppa d’Italia and 6 in the Europa League.
Thanks to his performances at club level, he received a callup for the Italian national team, for a friendly against Argentina in March of 2018.
At the end of his stint at the San Siro, in the summer of 2019 he was sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers, subsequently being loaned to ACF Fiorentina.

Cutrone's idol is a legendary Italian striker, who also shone in Serie A during his playing days.
“I really liked Pippo Inzaghi. He scored a lot of goals with AC Milan,” he told VCF Media upon his joining Valencia CF on loan. The forward has also highlighted Gonzalo Higuain, Paolo Maldini and Gennaro Gattuso as people he has worked alongside and from whom he has received helpful advice.

Cutrone grew up in Parè (Colverde), a town in the Como area very close to the border with Switzerland. His father Pasquale was a defender, while his brother Christopher has played as a goalkeeper at professional level in both Italy and Switzerland.
