Corberán: "We know how important the game is for the fans"
The coach previews the Sunday derby
Kevin Gameiro struck a late contender for Goal Of The Month in the game against Real Betis on Matchday 26, and he is one of the candidates to lead the line for Valencia CF against Deportivo Alavés on Friday. The Frenchman, one of coach Albert Celades' only available strikers as Maxi Gómez recovers from metatarsal surgery, has a good record against the Basque side.

The VCF forward has scored in his last two games against Alavés. Whilst he missed the reverse fixture at Mestalla through injury, he got off the mark in the final match of last season (in a 3-1 win for his side). Before that, he grabbed the only goal in an away victory for Atletico Madrid at Mendizorroza.

Gameiro currently has five goals to his name this season -4 of which have come away from home. Should he feature on Friday, he would make his 200th appearance in LaLiga since arriving in Spain in 2013.
