Gayà: "We have to do some self-criticism and look ahead"
Valencia CF fullback José Luis Gayà talked to VCF Media after a disappointing defeat to RCD Mallorca on LaLiga Matchday 11.
Self-criticism
“It's what has been happening to us in previous games. We have to correct this now. We thought we had done that, but in a game that we had controlled, the penalty arrived, we had doubts and then, desperately, they were able to kill the game off. We weren't successful in the final metres. We're hurt because it was essential for us to win today. We have to do some self-criticism and look ahead."
A negative dynamic
“These have been three games in which we have gone ahead and not managed to win any of them. That is a statistic that bothers us a lot. If we go ahead we should have more control and do what we know, which is to play and not hit balls long and get nervous. We have to correct this because we've played 11 games and we've lacked points."
The final minutes
“We weren't able to attack well in the last few minutes. We got people forward but we have weren't precise. We dropped three important points. Now we have to prepare for the match against Barça, which is very important."
Continue working
"We have to lift ourselves up. It's been a week of three games, in which we have not got the points that we wanted. We have to keep going. We are 11 games into the season and there is a long way to go. We have to learn from this."
