Diego López, among the youngest Valencia CF players to reach 15 goals in LALIGA in the 21st century
The Asturian winger ranks fourth, only behind Juan Mata, Paco Alcácer, and Santi Mina
Gonçalo Guedes is working hard to help the team and to grow as a player at Valencia CF. Sometimes obstacles appear along the way, such as injuries, games in which things don’t turn out as planned, refereeing decisions etc., but dedication brings confidence and the Portuguese player took a step forward against Villarreal CF with a great performance -scoring another spectacular goal.
At this start of the 2020/21 season, Guedes has been continually looking for that performance that will increase his self-belief. Whilst Valencia CF were unable to get the win in the regional derby, there was no questioning his commitment to the cause.
Although last season he was plagued by injuries and inconsistency, this year it is hoped that he can show his true potential -demonstrated in some of the stunning goals that he has scored since joining the club. At times, such strikes can provide just the right momentum to kick-start a campaign.
Guedes is using hard work in training and a belief in his capabilities to take his play to the next level. He will have another chance to show his skills on Friday, in Valencia CF’s next game against Elche CF away from home.
