Match Report: Valencia CF held to away draw in frantic high-scoring game against UD Almería (2-2)

Goals from Diego López and Javi Guerra in either half see Valencia CF come away with a draw from the Power Horse Stadium.

Valencia CF travelled down South to take on UD Almería on Saturday 22nd of September at 9 pm kick-off time at the Power Horse Stadium on Matchday 6 of LaLiga EA Sports.

The match started off at a high tempo at both ends with both sides looking to break away on the counter-attack at every opportunity. Valencia CF had some early defending to do in the early goings of the game.

Diego López broke the deadlock just under the quarter-hour mark after a brilliant piece of play, a give-and-go with Javi Guerra to get in behind Chumi to slot the ball home beyond Maximiliano’s reach to put Valencia CF in front at the Power Horse Stadium.

Moments later, André Almeida forced Maximiliano into a save over the halfway mark of the first half. Alas, Valencia CF managed to withstand a flurry of UD chances  which Giorgi Mardashvili snuffed out with back-to-back brilliant stops over the half-hour mark to keep the scoreline at 0-1

Valencia CF edged out UD Almería by a 0-1 scoreline at the break with all to play for in the second half.

Valencia CF had a slow start to the second half looking to dictate the tempo and play in the second stanza at the Power Horse Stadium in Almería while the opposition played a direct brand of football.

Giorgi Mamardashvili produced heroics with yet another fingertip save to deny Robertone. But shortly after, the home side equalised through Arribas just under the hour mark.

Javi Guerra put Valencia CF back in front with a quickfire goal following a nifty Fran Pérez assist. Alas, the joy was shortlived as UD Almería got back on terms through Arribas in the 69th minute of the game.

Valencia CF managed to hold out for the remainder of the game to come away with a hard-fought draw against UD Almería at the Power Horse Stadium.
