The Valencia CF full-back, recovered from his anterior cruciate ligament tear, returned to competition against FC Barcelona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff
Uroš Račić renewed his contract with Valencia CF through to June 30th, 2024, this Sunday, and the player expressed his delight in an interview with VCF Media after putting pen to paper.
The midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Familicao and now wants to earn a place in the Valencia CF first team, said that “I am very happy, because Valencia CF are a very big club. I am happy that I am in this situation at 22 years old, being able to play here and show what I can do.”
He recalled his first experience in the city, which came when playing in a youth tournament organised by the VCF Academy. He was also inspired by a fellow Serbian.
“Around ten years ago, Nikola Zigic was here playing for Valencia CF. I have a twin brother, and I told him that it was my dream to play here. Now I'm here.”
“I want to thank everybody for everything. I am going to give everything I have on the pitch. I work very hard every day to be in this situation. I also want to thank God, because when you do something well, things work out. Thank you to the team, the coach and to everybody for helping me from my first day here.”
Račić’s new contract has a buyout clause of 150 million euros, and the central midfielder intends to make a name for himself in 2020/21.
