Soler amongst European elite for league goals and assists from midfield
Statistics back Carlos Soler's case as one of the best performing midfielders of the season so far. With his goal against Real Valladolid this past Sunday, the Valencia CF star already has 6 goals to his name in LaLiga, and has provided 4 assists. This not only establishes him as one of the best in the centre of the park in LaLiga, but also make him one of the most decisive midfielders in Europe's five 'big' leagues (Spain, England, Italy, Germany and France).

Soler is the joint highest scoring midfielder in LaLiga this term. Only Marcos Llorente of Atletico de Madrid has found the net as many times as he has. In addition, he is also the midfielder to have set up his teammates most frequently in the domestic competition, with 4 passes resulting in goals. Only forwards Iago Aspas (6), Ángel Correa (5), Karim Benzema (5) and Antoine Griezmann (4 ) can boast more.

In comparison with the rest of the European elite, Soler is also amongst the top scoring midfield players. Jordan Veretout (AS Roma) with 7 goals and Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) with 11 have been on the scoresheets more regularly.
Outside of LaLiga action, Soler has also carried his form into the Copa del Rey, having scored a goal and given an assist against Terrassa FC.
