VCF Academy in Switzerland training camp: Yellu

The VCF Academy is taking centre stage in the 2022/23 preseason. Jesús Santiago, AKA 'Yellu,' is one of the members of the youth setup who has been called up by Gennaro Gattuso for the training camp in Switzerland. He commented on the experience this week in an interview with VCF Media.

Starting out in football

I started at school.  My best friend and I decided to sign up for futsal in our town one afternoon.

His childhood idol

One of them was Rafa Nadal. Another was David Albelda, because of what he transmitted on the pitch.

A dedication for his first goal

To my family, because they are there in the good and bad moments.

Training in Switzerland

It's a unique experience. It's also an opportunity to learn from my teammates.

His dreams in football

I'd say winning the Champions League, but also playing in that competition is one of my dreams.
