Voro: "We wanted a good game and to dedicate a win to the fans"
Following the final home game of the season in which the team won 4-1 against SD Eibar, Valencia CF caretaker coach Voro gave a post-match press conference at Mestalla.
Analysing the game
"We planned a game, knowing the characteristics that the opposition have. They are a team that squeeze you and reduce the distances between the lines. We saw that we had difficulty circulating inside, so we tried to get behind the defence. We interpreted them very well and were very effective."
The return of fans to Mestalla
"The team greatly appreciated the fans being present. Today was excruciatingly hot and we really appreciate them coming out. What we wanted -and what we talked about- was to have a good game. We wanted the fans who came here to enjoy a victory for their team. Personally and collectively, we wanted to see growth. We've spoken about that since our first game together, saying after the win over Valladolid that we needed the points and you could sense our nervousness and anxiety. From there, we wanted to keep growing. In Seville we had a complete game. Today it was important that we won."
Further improvement
"The reality is what it is. Football is complicated. The season has been difficult. Our goal is to improve and we are working on that. We will continue with that philosophy until the end."
Better performance
"There are players who are now offering better performance, but I want to highlight the sacrifice made by the team at this point in the season. Everyone is working well and very professionally. Gonçalo Guedes is in excellent form, but we have been seeing the best from him for two months now. He is confident and it is a satisfaction to see him grow, because he is a player who can make a difference. Soler is the same. He is young, very intelligent, and with a great capacity for growth. We try to make sure that all of our players are located in the position where they can most help the team."
