The men’s and women’s first teams, along with the VCF Academy, will wear green ribbons during this matchday in support of the fight against cancer
Valencia CF has joined LALIGA, Liga F, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in the ‘Hope Armbands’ initiative, in recognition of World Cancer Day (February 4). The men's and women's first teams, as well as the Football 11 teams from the VCF Academy, will wear green ribbons in solidarity with the fight against cancer, demonstrating the unity of football with this cause.
The Club will further reinforce this commitment by inviting representatives from the Spanish Association Against Cancer to the Valencia CF vs. RC Celta de Vigo match, which will take place on Sunday at 4:15 PM at Mestalla. Valencia CF and the Fundació VCF collaborate each season in their fundraising efforts.
The ‘Hope Armbands’ campaign aims to transform the traditional symbol of mourning into one of hope and survival. The goal is to redefine one of the symbols most associated with the disease, giving it a more positive meaning. Throughout the matchday, the green ribbon will serve as a distinctive emblem, representing the lives that can be saved if the initiative’s objective of reaching a 70% cancer survival rate is achieved.
