Barrenechea: "we were the better side"

Valencia CF's Enzo Barrenechea talked after the 1-1 draw with RCD Espanyol, in which he played with a painkilling injection in his shoulder after a recent injury.

It leaves a bittersweet taste because I think we really deserved to win. However, let this point serve as a way to get points and get closer to our goal.

Andrés said it wasn't a foul, but now at the end of the match we were able to confirm it. Those are the referee's decisions. I don't like to comment on that, but we continued with the same mentality, with the same approach, and I think in the second half we came out with everything.

His chance at the end

We deserved to win. I think we were the better side over the 90 minutes, and it's a shame the three points didn't stay here. We just saw the replay of the incident, and it's a real shame. Their goalkeeper was very good.

Working hard

Until we're mathematically safe, our first objective is to stay in the Primera División. So we'll focus on trying to score points, match by match, and we'll focus on getting out of this situation.

Playing through the pain

It hurt a lot, and I've suffered a lot these past few days. Today I played with an injection. The anaesthesia had worn off a bit by the end and it hurt a little.
