MATCH REPORT: Victory against CD Eldense to kick off preseason

A trio of goals get Valencia CF up and running

Valencia CF played their first full-length friendly match of the 2026/27 preseason against CD Eldense at the Estadi Antonio Puchades, winning 3-0 through goals from Ryunosuke Sato, Jesús Vázquez, and Dani Raba.

The team showed intensity in the opening minutes, playing the ball out from the back. This control of proceedings led to their first chance: Raba picked out Jesús Vázquez making a run into space; the full-back controlled and drove into the opposition box, but his shot went wide of goal.

Valencia CF pressed immediately after losing possession, with an electric Ryunosuke leading the attack. CD Eldense tried to launch counterattacks, but Carlos Corberán’s men remained alert and solid in defence. Just past the 20 minute mark, they took the lead following a well-worked move that Sato finished past goalkeeper Ramón Vila.

Shortly after, there was an opportunity to extend the advantage through a counter involving Sadiq, Ryunosuke, and Raba, but the trio failed to convert.

Following the hydration break, Jesús Vázquez netted Valencia CF's second goal. Ryunosuke drove down the flank, cut into the box, and shot; the ball deflected off a defender and struck the post, but the full-back pounced on the rebound to turn it into the net.

Two minutes before the end of the first half, Sadiq applied pressure and dispossessed Antonio David as Eldense tried to play out from the back; the Nigerian forward strode upfield and teed up Raba to score Valencia CF's third goal.

SECOND HALF

Valencia CF started the second half just as they had the first: dominant and in control of play. Five minutes after the restart, they created another chance through a shot from Pepelu from outside the box, which went off target.

The threat on the opposition's goal continued aided by José Luis Gayà’s runs down the left flank. However Eldense came close to scoring with a header that forced Vicent Abril to pull off a brilliant save, showcasing his quick reflexes.

Valencia CF responded a few minutes later with a strike from Javi Guerra that was gathered by Juanpa. Following that, they launched another break through Luis Rioja, but he was unable to connect with Hugo Duro for the finish. Duro had another good look before the end of the contest, although his attempt to round Juanpa was thwarted by the goalkeeper.

Javi Guerra rounded off the contest with two consecutive efforts: a shot from inside the CD Eldense box that grazed the right post, and another that was saved by the goalkeeper.

Valencia CF will play another friendly match against CD Castellón on Saturday, July 25th, at 8pm at the Estadi Antonio Puchades.
