G. Rodríguez: “We came here with a winning mentality and got the victory. The team competed and rose to the occasion” 

Valencia CF midfielder Guido Rodríguez has reflected on the victory over Deportivo Alavés in their Matchday 6 fixture of the 2026-27 LALIGA EA SPORTS season.

The victory

“It was important from a psychological standpoint. Now, more than ever, we need to stay positive. We have to have a positive, winning mindset, and that’s the attitude we brought today, which allowed us to get the result. We came here to play our own game, fully aware of what these three points meant. We stepped up, applied pressure, stuck together, and defended as a compact unit; the team competed throughout and really rose to the occasion.”

The next match against Real Sociedad at Mestalla

“We have to keep going; the season has just started, and we already need to focus on the next match because we need another win.”

“I felt good; I had a bit of discomfort from a knock to my toe, but I’m fine.”
