Baraja: “We didn't know how to manage the scoreline"
The Valencia CF coach analyses the defeat against RCD Mallorca
The Valencia CF defender has been called up by 'La Rojita' for their two upcoming fixtures.
Valencia CF defender Cristhian Mosquera has been called up by Spain Under-21s for the first time. The Valencia CF player's great performance has earned him a place in Santi Denia's squad for a friendly match against Slovakia and another game against Belgium, a qualifier for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Cristhian (27/06/2004) joined Valencia CF in August 2016 and gradually grew and developed at the VCF Academy until he arrived at VCF Mestalla and then Valencia CF. His debut with the men's first team was in January 2022, in a match that pitted Valencia CF against C.D. Atlético Baleares in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey
His effort, hard work and sacrifice daily have led him to become one of the fundamental pieces in Rubén Baraja's schemes. Mosquera, at only 19 years of age, is growing by leaps and bounds as the games go by and his exceptional performances are proof of this. The Spanish-Colombian player has managed to be the U-19 central defender with more minutes played in the 5 big leagues (LALIGA, Premier League, Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga) and stringing together a whole term as a starter, since matchday 8 of LALIGA EA Sports 23-24.
On the international stage, Mosquera has competed with Spain's Under-19s and has been a regular in the national team's youth squads since Under-15.
Fixtures for Spain Under-21s:
Spain-Slovakia 21 March 7 pm
Spain-Belgium 26 March 7 pm
