Pepe Claramunt, a Valencia CF legend, was born on July 10, 1946, in Puçol, where the “Els Nostres Ídols: Claramunt” exhibition was officially opened this Thursday, September 17. The exhibition has been organised by the VCF Foundation’s Heritage Department, Puçol Town Council and the Diputació de València, with Claramunt himself also in attendance.
The exhibition can be visited until October 2 at Espai Social La Barraca (25 Carrer La Barraca, Puçol), from Monday to Friday, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
The exhibition offers a journey through Pepe Claramunt’s life and career as part of “2026, Claramunt Year”, declared in December 2025 by the town council with the support of the Club to mark the 80th anniversary of the Valencia CF icon. The three institutions also published a children’s book about Claramunt in April.
It is worth remembering that Claramunt was named an honorary citizen of Puçol in 1999. In addition, in February 2026, he received an honorary award from the Town Council in recognition of a lifetime dedicated to sport.
At the opening of the exhibition, the Valencia CF legend was accompanied by family and friends, as well as by Paz Carceller, Mayor of Puçol, and Valencia CF ambassador Miguel Tendillo, who presented Pepe with the VCF 26-27 collector’s season ticket.
“Els Nostres Ídols: Claramunt” adds to the many tributes Pepe Claramunt has received from Valencia CF and the VCF Foundation.
The most recent is the Valencia CF 26-27 collector’s season ticket, dedicated to his career and unveiled on the morning of September 17.
Likewise, on May 2, 2026, he performed the ceremonial kick-off at Mestalla Stadium ahead of the match against Club Atlético de Madrid. In June, he spent time with the VCF Alevín team at LALIGA FC Futures, with the young players listening attentively to his advice. That same month, his mural was unveiled in Puçol as part of the VCF Urban Art Route.
