Valencia CF and Burgos CF pay tribute to José Luis Manzanedo

The former Burgos-born player won the 1979 Copa del Rey, the 1979–80 European Cup Winners’ Cup and the 1980–81 UEFA Super Cup with the Valencian side

Valencia CF and Burgos CF paid tribute to former footballer José Luis Manzanedo in the build-up to the Copa del Rey Round of 16 match.

The former player competed for seven seasons (1977–1978/1983–84) with the Valencian side, making 140 appearances and winning the 1979 Copa del Rey, the 1979–80 European Cup Winners’ Cup and the 1980–81 UEFA Super Cup.


Prior to his arrival at Valencia CF, he played for Real Burgos CF - now Burgos CF - from 1973 to 1977. In the pre-match ceremony between the two clubs, Tendillo - a former teammate of Manzanedo and an ambassador for the Valencian club - presented him with a personalised jersey bearing his name.
