Valencia CF backs Aldaia city council’s proposal to celebrate the ‘Year of Guillot’ during the 2026–27 season

On Tuesday afternoon, July 28, 2026, Aldaia City Council held a plenary session in which it approved a motion declaring the 2026–27 campaign as the ‘Year of Guillot’ in tribute to Valencia CF legend Vicente Guillot (born July 15, 1941), marking the 85th anniversary of his birth. The initiative will run alongside the various events planned as part of the ‘Year of Claramunt.’

Valencia CF are proud to support this initiative and will work together with Aldaia City Council throughout the 2026–27 season to commemorate this significant milestone. A series of activities and tributes will be organized during the campaign, beginning in August 2026, with the aim of continuing to celebrate Guillot’s remarkable legacy at the Club.

Guillot first made his mark with VCF Mestalla before making his official first-team debut for Valencia CF in LALIGA against Real Zaragoza at La Romareda on September 3, 1961. The striker formed a prolific attacking partnership with Waldo and was coached during his career by figures including Mundo Suárez and Alfredo Di Stéfano.

The Aldaia-born forward spent eight seasons with Valencia CF (1961–62, 1967–68 and 1969–70), making 289 appearances, scoring 96 goals, and providing 69 assists. During his time at the Club, he won two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups (1962 and 1963) and the 1967 Copa del Generalísimo.

Following his playing career, Guillot served as Director of the VCF Academy for ten years and is currently the Honorary President of the VCF Footballers' Association.
