Valencia CF, LALIGA, the FFCV and the General Directorate for Sports of the GVA, present in the sporting areas most affected by the flash floods

Valencia CF, LALIGA, the Football Federation of the Valencia Region and the General Directorate for Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana have visited some of the sports facilities most affected by the tragic flash floods that hit the Valencia Region in order to start planning and helping in the reconstruction of the facilities.

We wanted to start to give a ‘kick-start’ to the project that Valencia CF and their VCF Foundation have to help re-establish the sporting and educational activity of the children and families who have been tremendously affected by the flash floods and we have made a series of visits to football pitches and facilities that have been completely destroyed, accompanied by LALIGA, the FFCV and the Sports Department of the Generalitat Valenciana, with the aim of using the funds that Valencia CF have started to raise to manage football aid for football and to ensure that it arrives in the most efficient way possible,’ explained Javier Solís.

The Corporate Director of the Club -Javier Solís-, the Director of the VCF Foundation -Inma Ibáñez-, the Director of the VCF Academy -Luis Martínez- and the Head of the VCF Schools programme -Ramón Mompó- have been at the football pitches of the various schools affiliated to the Valencian club (Racing Algemesí, UD Aldaia, FBCD Catarroja and CF Atlético Sedaví) that have been most affected by the flash floods

‘The VCF Foundation wants a long-term project until the situation returns to normal. Many institutions want to collaborate and what we are going to try to do is to channel all this aid. Of course, we have to use the potential that Valencia CF have as a call effect and try to get as many people as possible to join us, the better.

Our function is to be at the side of society and what we are trying to do is to help as much as possible to restore normality,’ said Inma Ibáñez.

The visit was also attended by the Deputy Director General for Sports of the Valencia Region -José Miguel Sánchez-, the Secretary General of the Valencia Region Football Federation -César Calatayud- and the Technical Consultant of the LALIGA Competitions Department -Antonio del Castillo-.

'They have made a few football pitches available for us to train in, including the Ciutat Esportiva del Valencia CF and, little by little, we are helping the children to forget a bit about the day-to-day life here because some of them have not even gone to school yet. We need a lot of help. The fact that various bodies, including Valencia CF and LALIGA, have come forward to help us means that we are not alone; we are supported, which guarantees that we will continue. We will get out of this however we can. We will return to normality, we are strong’, says the General Secretary of Atlético Sedaví, Toni García.
